| Video Discription | About every other to every 3 years we get a big crop of pine nuts on our trees. We have about 100-150 piñon pine trees on the ranch. About every 3-5 years with a good snow fall winter and summer monsoon rains we'll get a bumper crop of pine nuts and the next spring we get a bloom of rodents... everything has a price! Unfortunately for most people, these trees only grow from the south of the Uintah Mountains in Utah, through Arizona and into Mexico. We have, I'm guessing here, about 1,000 square miles of trees concentrated in the Uintah basin and then they're spotty going south. The Federal Government has limits on how many you can pick on public land, if they're on your own property, then you can have all that are on your land...
