Experience points come from the number of games you have on your account (1 XP per game, free to play games don't count) and badges (100 XP per badge) To get more games you need to pay attention to steam sales, get bundles (humble bundle, indiegala, bundlestars, nuveem), visit steamgifts often, buy the cheapest games on sale that are worth their value on card pieces Crafting badges: most games have steam cards, for every steam card sold the developer gets a cut and steam gets a cut; use idle master to get all card pieces (there are other programs around); once you get all card pieces you become elegible to receive random booster pack drops whenever someone crafts a badge of that game, this % increases every 10 levels; check market fluctuation, sell expensive card pieces that you will never craft, place orders to buy cheap ones to craft and level up. Each time you craft a badge you get a discount coupon which you usually don't use, during summer and winter sales instead of the coupon you get card pieces for the special season badge, so it's usually wise to wait for the special sale period before crafting your badges.
