In this video, we will explore and learn about the life of Richard Morris Hunt. He was an American architect of the nineteenth century and an eminent figure in the history of American architecture. Helping to shape New York City and Newport with his designs. His prominent work includes: expansive renovations of the United States Capitol, designing New York's Tribune Building, designing part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty to name a few. He was also the first American to be admitted into what was thought to be the finest school of architecture in the world: the École des Beaux-Arts.
