| Video Discription | The Farmall and International 460/560 tractors were built from 1958-1963 and the 660 from 1959 to 1963. They were an attempt by IH to modernize it's tractor fleet, but, unfortunately, the 560 used the essential 1939 Farmall M drivetrain from 1939 and were not filly tested prior to widespread release. Problems arose almost immediately when the larger engined tractors were put under full load. at the last moment, IH had upped the size of the 560 engine to directly compete with the John Deere 730 which proved to be a catastrophic mistake since the ball bearings in the bull gears of the final drives fell out of their cases and essentially jammed the gears causing catastrophic failures. All in all, the failures were not widespread and only occurred in areas where farmers were pulling heavy tillage tools, but the failures were catastrophic.
