| Video Discription | Mississippi Baptist All-State Youth Choir & Orchestra 2019 First Baptist of Jackson, Mississippi June 17, 2019 Director: Slater Murphy *This Southern Baptist youth choir & orchestra is selected through an extensive audition process during the fall that includes musical ability and Christian testimony. Then, in June the following year they have a 3 day rehearsal camp followed by a 6 day concert tour. The choir was started in 1993 by Graham Smith and Susan Luttrell. Through the years the MBASYC&O has been fortunate to be directed by very gifted men--Dr. Richard Joiner (1993-2002), Dr. Jamie Meaders (2003-2012), and Rev. Slater Murphy (2013-present). The orchestra has been connected by Mr. David Young (1994-2013), Mr. Edd Brashier (2014-2016), and Mr. Byron Green (2017-present). Dr. Darwin Brooks has been the accompanist since 1994. vNQhhFEvlLs |
