In this video, we learn about his life, his death, and the legacy he left behind. He didn't come from riches, but he valued learning and reading about the French revolution, Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, the lives of the US Presidents, and Jose Rizal's novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. He was also a founding member of La Liga Filipina, an organization headed by Rizal. Bonifacio founded the Katipunan (Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan) and fought in the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish colonizers. After winning Philippine independence, Bonifacio was called the Supremo and some believed he should be the new President of the Philippines.
