| Video Discription | Harrowing Experience with Darcy! Montana Farming In today's video, I take you harrowing with Darcy and me on our Montana farm. Harrowing is like using a giant rake on our fields to make sure there are no big clumps of straw left in the fields for our seeding drills to get plugged up with. This is an important job on the farm because it prepares the fields so they may be seeded in the fall or spring. It also helps to reduce breakdowns with the seeding drills when we are planting. We want to make sure the chopped-up straw is evenly dispersed through the fields. This also helps to add nutrients to the soil over the winter months before we start planting in the spring.
