He resides in the Central Java province. He plays for PB. Djarum, a badminton club in Kudus, Central Java and joined the club in 2005. Tontowi Ahmad rose to prominence in the world badminton in 2010 when he paired with the established mixed doubles star Liliyana Natsir. With Natsir he won the 2016 Olympic gold medal in the mixed doubles category.[1] Tontowi Ahmad competed in badminton at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Mixed doubles with partner Liliyana Natsir and winning the gold medal at the end after beating Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying of Malaysia. Ahmad and Natsir won all of their matches in straight sets, including against the current no.1-ranked Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei. Winny Oktavina Kandow (born 14 October 1998) is an Indonesian badminton player specializes in doubles from Tewasen village in South Minahasa, North Sulawesi.[1][2] Trained at the Tangkas Intiland Jakarta, she managed to claim the 2016 junior national mixed doubles title partnered with Yeremia Rambitan,[3] and led her to join national team squad in 2017.[4] Kandow entered the 2017 National Championships held in Pangkal Pinang with Akbar Bintang Cahyono, and the duo seized the national mixed doubles title after competing as a unseeded player.[3] She is increasingly known after reaching the 2018 Singapore Open semifinal stage with Cahyono, but was defeated by their senior teammates Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in a tight straight games.[5] She succeed in clinching her first international title by winning the 2018 Hyderabad Open.[6] Tan Kian Meng (Chinese: 陈健铭; pinyin: Chén Jiànmíng) is a Malaysian badminton player who specializes in the doubles events. He is currently playing with Lai Pei Jing in mixed doubles. Originally a singles player, he switched to play in the doubles events since August 2014 due to slow career progress.[2] Lai Pei Jing (born 8 August 1992) is a Malaysian professional badminton player in the mixed doubles event. She started her career in the women's singles event.[1] She briefly partnered Chan Peng Soon in mid-2014 and in August that year, they reached a world ranking of No. 48.
