It’s essential for a child to have this before teaching language. Make sure your child is ready to learn and isn’t disruptive to whatever you’re trying to teach. Verbal Imitation is the next essential skill to master. It is the most important prelinguistic skill. And mastering this would help your child use verbal communication. 2. Usually, children at this stage lack verbs. Most words single word levels children have are nouns. We have to change that and expand the child’s vocabulary. When the child has enough verbs, the next step is to add nouns in front or behind them. increase the number of words your child can string together systematically. 3. Verbal Reasoning Level Learning to answer why questions and storytelling are essential for children at this level. Children move towards multi utterances instead of using 1 sentence at a time. This includes being able to explain past events, and game rules and also asking for clarification. Inferencing is a skill where you need to verbalize information that is not literal. This might be a joke, something implicitly presented, facial expressions and so on. Literacy and Higher Thinking At the moment, this is not a topic of interest in Agents of Speech. Social Skills We don’t have to explicitly target social skills unless the child already has good language skills. Social skills are sprinkled across all language tasks.
