Today, maiko are very famous and popular around the world. They are young ladies from around 15~20 years old, who will entertain you at a "お茶屋 Tatami style room restaurant", with Japanese traditional culture like dancing, singing, and playing instruments while you enjoy your meal and saké. They are professionals of entertainment, service, and hospitality. The maiko culture started about 300 years ago in Kyoto, and it still lives on to this day.
