| Video Discription | Stokes Castle in Austin, NV was built in 1897 and overlooked the Lincoln Highway since before there was a Lincoln Highway. This part of Highway 50 is now known as the Loneliest Road in America, and not a place you would expect to find a European style tower. But here one is. Stokes Castle was built by Anson Phelps Stokes in 1897, but by 1898 the property was sold and has remained unoccupied since. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
