Its new 120 kW spindle option maintains the same maximum rpm of 33,000 but delivers 50 percent more power, enabling increased metal-removal roughing rates in aluminum machining. In this video, a MAG1 demonstrates the roughing capabilities of the 120 kW spindle with a 25mm diameter end mill. The result is a roughing metal-removal rate of 6,550 cm3/min (400 in3/min).
