Tribal students’ unions are also protesting against the inclusion of Meitei Community in the SC/ST category. A rally was organised by the All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) in parts of Manipur to protest against the demand. Meanwhile, State Chief Minister N Biren Singh humbly appealed protestors to maintain peace & harmony. Internet services have been suspended in Manipur for five days amid protests and fighting among youths. Curfew has been imposed in eight districts of the north-eastern state to maintain law and order. Olympian and former Rajya Sabha MP Mary Kom demanded State, Central Governments intervention. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to CM N Biren Singh and took stock of the situation.
