The Story of the rising evil in Middle-Earth.
In the dawn of creation, when the world was yet young and the stars sang in the heavens, there was a being of great power and pride named Melkor. Among the Ainur, the divine beings who participated in the creation of the world through the Music of the Ainur, Melkor's voice was the most potent and commanding. But within his heart lay a darkness, a thirst for dominion and control that set him apart from his brethren.
As the Music of the Ainur swelled and ebbed, Melkor's desires twisted the harmony into discord. He rebelled against the vision of Eru Ilúvatar, the supreme deity, seeking to impose his own will upon the world. Thus, Melkor became known as Morgoth, the Dark Enemy, and his rebellion tainted the very fabric of Arda, setting the stage for his malevolent deeds.
In his insatiable quest for power, Morgoth waged relentless wars against the Valar, the guardians of the world appointed by Eru. These conflicts, known as the Wars of Beleriand, rent the earth asunder and laid waste to the lands of Middle-earth. Legions of dark creatures, corrupted Ainur, and enslaved beings marched beneath his banner, spreading fear and despair wherever they went.
Morgoth's influence extended to the races of Middle-earth, whom he sought to corrupt and dominate. He twisted and perverted the noble Elves, capturing and torturing them until they became the vile Orcs, his foot soldiers in the war against the Free Peoples. Trolls, dragons, and other monstrous beings bowed before him, their wills enslaved to his own.
Yet, Morgoth's greatest act of defiance came with the theft of the Silmarils, the three jewels crafted by Fëanor, the greatest of the Elven smiths. These gems contained the pure light of the Two Trees of Valinor, making them the most precious treasures in all of Arda. Morgoth coveted the Silmarils above all else, and his theft of them sparked centuries of strife and sorrow.
Throughout Middle-earth, Morgoth erected dark fortresses and strongholds, bastions of his power and cruelty. From the depths of Angband in the north to the heights of Tol-in-Gaurhoth in the south, his dominion spread like a shadow, blotting out the light and casting the land into darkness.
But even as Morgoth's shadow stretched across the world, there were those who dared to defy him. Heroes and champions rose from among the Free Peoples, rallying against the darkness with courage and hope. Theirs was a struggle against overwhelming odds, a battle not only for survival but for the very soul of Middle-earth.
And though Morgoth was eventually defeated and cast out of the world, his legacy endured. The scars of his reign lingered upon the land, a reminder of the cost of unchecked ambition and the enduring power of darkness. But in the hearts of the Free Peoples, the flame of hope burned bright, a beacon against the encroaching shadows, a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who dared to stand against the darkness.
