| Video Discription | Stephen Thomas, Assistant Professor of Zoology at MSU & Assistant Curator for science education at the MSU museum, describes how comic books can engage students and be effective ways to communicate science. As an educator, Thomas uses new technologies and comics to merge visuals and text in order to help students learn. The use of comics has shown that students have more interest in the subject, worked harder, and uderstood more because they have a connection to both the class and the instructor. In addition to teaching, Thomas has many new projects in the works including children's books, webcomics, and educational touchscreen games.
