| Video Discription | Hi friends, Some of you know that I did my first solo concert two weeks ago, on October 29th at the Showcase Theater in San Rafael, California. The first completely solo performance in my life!!! I guess it just took me 66 years to feel comfortable enough in my skin to get onstage and be completely vulnerable (and uncomfortable!!!) and share my heart and songs with you. It was a transformational moment for me, and I feel a new world has opened, which I'm deeply inspired to further explore. 'Exile' is one of the songs I performed that night. It's always been an extremely emotional song for me and, outside of the album, I've never sung it live. 'Exile' was written for my beloved, Nubia Teixeira, who I met at the cusp in my life between addiction and recovery, despair and hope. From the moment I first cast my eyes on her, in Brasil, I knew that I had finally found my soul mate but, because of the circumstances of my life, I believed we could never be together. Ohhhh, what awful hopelessness.... But destiny works in mysterious ways and within a year we were blissfully married and getting ready (though we didn't know it) to be parents to our darling son, Ezra Gopal. AND I was sober and in the process of recovery. Wow, what a life......
