Her birth name is Dhanya Nair, but she changed her name to Navya Nair after entering the film industry. Navya Nair made her acting debut in 2001 with the Malayalam film "Ishtam" directed by Sibi Malayil. Her breakthrough came with the film "Nandanam" in 2002, directed by Ranjith, in which she played the lead role opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran. She won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film. Navya Nair has acted in over 50 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu languages.
