Except they are. Sharron has even written a book on this exact subject. Alex also made some dodgy comments around race, suggesting that having separate categories for trans athletes was comparable to having 'special categories for Jamaican sprinters and Ethiopian marathon runners as their genetics has been shown to give them an advantage over their rivals'.
