| Video Discription | In the first webinar of the Law, Technology, & Warfare Research Cell's (LTWRC's) second season of Cyber Law webinars, Dr. Justin Firestone, Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, discusses the Fifth Circuit's recent decision in Netchoice v. Paxton. He takes a critical view of the opinion, which reinstated a Texas law that curtails the abilities of social media platforms to discriminate based on viewpoint in content moderation, and requires certain transparency measures. The opinion in part relies on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which is also discussed.
