| Video Discription | Parliament Building Inauguration Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building today in a grand ceremony. As many as 21 Dharmapuram Adheenam seers from Chennai handed over the Sengol to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Sengol will be installed in the Lok Sabha chamber of the new Parliament between 8.30 am and 9 am today. Sengol gets its name from the Tamil word 'semmai', meaning righteousness. The sceptre is a historical symbol of Independence as it signifies the transfer of power from the British to the Indians. Meanwhile, the ceremony is being boycotted by over 20 opposition parties, including the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), AAP, Trinamool Congress (TMC), and the Janata Dal (United).
