| Video Discription | Traeger Pro Series 22 The smaller size fits well on your deck or patio. Quickly enjoy short-term smokes (burgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, meatloaf, and many more). My favorite is the reverse seared steak - ribeye or sirloin smoked in under an hour, then seared on a cast iron skillet in clarified butter or oil for two minutes per side ( it’s the best steak I’ve ever made). This model is affordable because it’s smaller and doesn’t have wireless temperature features which is no problem, you can buy wireless sensors and thermometers online that work very well. The cooking range is 180 to 375 degrees - ample for smoking. Its cooking area of 572 square inches has been ample for my smoking needs, sometimes serving several people. When you purchase, be sure to get a good cover as the control panel and electrical instrumentation should not remain exposed to outside weather. The pellets are heated using electricity, so you’ll need to place this near an outlet. My smoker is 50 feet away from my house, but no worries because I use a 50-foot, high-gage, appliance extension cord. I recommend buying drip pot liners. Get good quality aluminum foil to cover your drip pan, or buy drip pan covers online. The Traeger is a marvelous invention. Brilliant in design, and most of all – FUN to use.
