| Video Discription | Collard Greens For New Years Day Repost from Dec 31, 2020 Collard Greens Southern Style Ingredients: 1 bunch fresh collard greens 8 slices hog jowls (or bacon slices) 32 oz chicken broth 4 cups water 1 chicken bullion cube 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tsp onion flakes ¼ tsp red pepper flakes ¼ tsp black pepper Salt to taste Directions: Wash and clean collard greens very thoroughly. Cut into small pieces Cook 4 slices of hog jowls to render the grease for seasoning Remove the hog jowls leaving the grease in the pot Add chicken broth slowly Add water,chicken bullion, brown sugar, garlic, onion flakes, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt Add the collard greens to the pot and heat until they start to wilt.
