Jean Miller, a unit clerk at NewYork-Presbyterian, decided to do something about it by buying a Valentine's Day card for a very sick patient to give to his wife. Jean wasn't sure she wanted her story turned into a TV commercial. The way she sees it, thinking about what patients and their families need is part of her job description and what she did for this patient "was no big thing." Her patients and co-workers disagree.
