There are 20+ different shark species in the Maldives.There is a definite adrenaline rush of the unknown as one enters shark-infested waters, but always remember that sharks are more afraid of you than you need to be of them! Best time to spot sharks in the Maldives: Generally all year round and specifically from November to late March. The sea is calm and clear during this time. Cost: 50 USD per head with lunch. Usually a half day tour. There have been several shark attacks through the recent years. Here are some tips to enjoy being around sharks and being safe: 1. Do NOT try feeding them. This should be done by experienced professionals only. 2. Do NOT use photograph using flash lights. 3. Do NOT touch them. 4. ALWAYS stay in a group. 5. Do NOT panic 6. AVOID excessive splashing. 7.
