The New Honeymoon hotel, located on the bank of the Swat river in Kalam was washed away as stunned bystanders looked on. The hotel had been evacuated a day earlier and no deaths were reported. Historic monsoon rains and flooding have impacted more than 30 million people in Pakistan over the past few weeks, the country’s climate change minister said on Thursday, calling the situation a “climate-induced humanitarian disaster of epic proportions.” More than 900 people have been killed. The destruction of infrastructure and breakdown in communication links has made rescue and relief efforts more difficult.
