Welcome to talking tv, your source for the latest news in sports and entertainment! Today, we have an exciting story that blends the worlds of professional basketball and wrestling. Could WNBA star Caitlin Clark make an appearance in the WWE? Let’s dive into the details.
Pro wrestling is red-hot right now, with fans eagerly anticipating upcoming WWE events. Meanwhile, the WNBA is also experiencing a surge in popularity, thanks in part to the arrival of young superstar Caitlin Clark. Clark, the Indiana Fever guard, has been drawing big crowds both in college and the pros. Now, WWE superstar Bianca Belair has an exciting idea to bring even bigger crowds to the WWE.
In a recent interview with ComicBook Nation, Belair shared her thoughts shortly after WWE announced a massive partnership with the city of Indianapolis. This partnership will bring the 2025 Royal Rumble, a future SummerSlam, and WrestleMania to the city. Belair, fresh off her latest tag-team title loss at Clash at the Castle, spoke about the possibility of Caitlin Clark joining the WWE fun.
Belair said, “Listen, I love what’s happening with the WNBA. I love that women are getting more spotlight and more attention. I’ve always said, you know, we don’t need to do anything different. We just need the opportunities, we need the media coverage, and the WNBA is doing that. I feel like WWE, we’ve done a lot of unprecedented things when it comes to women, whether it’s women main eventing WrestleManias, main eventing on a weekly basis at Raws, SmackDowns or PLEs. So, it would be really cool for the two worlds to combine and have an even bigger impact for women. So, Caitlin Clark, if you’re watching, come on. Come in the Royal Rumble. You can be one of the 30 participants. That’s what’s exciting about the Royal Rumble, right? You never know what’s gonna happen. It could be the past, the present, the future, or just someone that you don’t expect, so you might see Caitlin Clark, 2025 Royal Rumble right here in Indianapolis.”
The Women's Royal Rumble may not be as old as the men's event, but it has become a must-see spectacle. Imagine the excitement of seeing one of the most popular female athletes, Caitlin Clark, in the mix. This wouldn't be the first time a professional athlete steps into the WWE ring. NFL stars like George Kittle, Jason Kelce, and Rob Gronkowski have all participated in WWE matches. However, convincing the Indiana Fever to let Clark participate in such a physical event might be challenging. Basketball players aren't typically built to take the kinds of bumps wrestlers do. The Fever might be hesitant to risk their star player’s health.
Regardless, there are many ways Caitlin Clark could get involved with WWE's upcoming events in Indianapolis. Perhaps as an honorary member or in a non-physical role. The 2025 Royal Rumble is set for Saturday, February 1st. Will Caitlin Clark be a part of the excitement? Only time will tell.
