The Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act, which began in 1937, is an excise tax on firearms and ammunition that awards grants to state fish and game agencies. Michigan gets a portion of these funds because hunters and trappers purchase licenses and shooting equipment. This video gives a brief overview of how these funds help conserve Michigan's wildlife.
