| Video Discription | This lecture is the first in a six-part series exploring Irish history from the Plantation of Ulster to Partition, organised to mark the 250th anniversary of Armagh Robinson Library, Northern Ireland's oldest public library. The lecture provides an overview of the origin and development of Ulster's plantation towns. The speaker, Dr Brendan Scott, is Cavan County Council's Historian-in-Residence. He has written and edited a number of books and articles on religion and society in early modern Ireland, including 'Society and Administration in Ulster's Plantation Towns' (2019). The lecture was organised by Armagh Robinson Library, working in collaboration with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and part-financed by the NI Executive Office.
