| Video Discription | This foil consists of a layer of polymer dispersed liquid crystals, surrounded by a conductive layer and a support sheet on both sides. The liquid crystal molecules are randomly orientated and due to strong scattering the foil appears opaque. When an alternating voltage (~ 60V) is applied across the PDLC film, the molecules align parallel to the electric field, scattering is largely reduced, and the sheet becomes transparent.
