| Video Discription | Presenting you our second winter vlog from our recent trip to Utah. This time we explore the Canyonlands national park and nearby locations. Unlike Arches NP, Canyonlands NP covers a large portion of the land, and has two entrance points, north and south entrances, the north being closer to Moab. We visited the north region of the Canyonlands with stops at some of the popular vista points and trail heads. Among them are the Shafer viewpoint, Buck canyon, Mesa arch trail, and the Grand viewpoint trail. There are other viewpoints worth checking out as well, which we did not visit due to the bad weather. Our top recommendations would be, at the very least, doing the Mesa arch trail (about 1 mile round trip) and the Grand view point trail (about 2 mile round trip), as they offer spectacular views of the red rocks and the canyons. On a bright sunny day, these locations would look no less comparable to the Grand Canyon of Arizona. On a side note, if you do have time on your way back, do visit the Dead horse state park, which lies just north of the "Island in the sky" visitor center, which is also as beautiful as canyonlands, if not less. We also decided to hit the Potash road, a majority of which is covered in dirt. This dirt path takes you to the heart of canyonlands NP, alongside big canyons and cliffs. But be mindful of the weather here, as in rainy season the path can be slippery and tough to maneuver, and a 4-wheel drive is an absolute must. But before hitting the dirt path on the Potash road, there are points worth stopping at. One location that we stopped was to look at the Petroglyphs on these rocks, and the other location was at the Corona arch trailhead, where we did a short (~3 mile round trip) yet entertaining trail.
