"The time is now to ensure we, as working and future physicians, listen to all of our patients, learn the facts about and causes of racial disparities in medicine, and actively take action to prevent the premature deaths of African Americans living in the U.S. Remember, we took an oath to prevent disease whenever we can, and systemic racism is a virus woven into the DNA of this nation.
