For everyone who's asking, the reason he held it in his shirt was to prevent the fragments of the popped balloon from falling though the mesh floor and onto the lower baffles. He tells me it's a real pain to clean those. It doesn't really affect the sound it makes anyway. Feel free to use this video for any educational or non-commercial use.
