| Video Discription | On January 7th and 8th we decided to spend some time on the western slope of Colorado, rail fanning the Moffat and Glenwood Springs Subdivisions. Unfortunately for us, there was very little traffic all day, and only a few of those trains during daylight hours. The 7th was the opening day for the winter park express, so we started on the east side and caught the wpe, Amtrak 5, and a loaded coal train, which is in our Winter Park Express video. We then moved over the continental divide to Winter Park, however there were no trains until the ski train departed the winter park resort in the evening. We moved west toward our cabin, and found an eastbound bnsf in the daylight and another loaded coal train at Kremmling and a late Amtrak 6 at Flat in the darkness, as well as another westbound later at night. The next day, 8th, the line was very quiet and only saw Amtrak 5 and 6, and the eastbound MRONY which we chased. Slide fence detectors were going off all day and given the weather, UP may have been running limited numbers of trains. RailBuffs is the University of Colorado Model Railroad and Railfan Club.
