As an international student in Australia and a Canadian PR holder, I have been through the whole journey that every Indian immigrant goes through and it is sometimes not the easiest. I had everything - a good job in Toronto, Canadian PR, a good partner, I was travelling but still I was not happy. The reality of my life in Canada was different though. I had the stress-free life of a permanent resident with a good full-time job in Toronto but it was not all okay. Life in Canada for immigrants is tough and I learnt it the hard way. I share a lot about my life in Toronto and what all I am doing/liking/not liking about downtown Toronto living but something was missing. I looked okay from the front, just my normal self but deep beneath I knew something was not right and I had heard from people that mental health issues in Canada are common but I did not even know if it was that. I went into serious self-doubt about everything that I was doing in my life. But then once I took a step back from the everyday life, I realised it was not Canada that was the problem. It was the fact that I was burnt out and I did not allow myself to take a break from content creation. It was affecting my mental well-being and making me doubt myself. Self doubt and over thinking became a daily thing and I did not understand what was happening. Life in Canada for immigrants was surely different but is this what I thought my life would be like? All these questions kept haunting me until I took a break from everything. The break in life helped me come out of that phase of self-doubt and got me walking towards self-discovery where I found out what was happening.
