When I was a senior in high school I moved next to a mink farm. I didn't know much about mink at the time, so I started asking questions about them. I was told that mink were horrible, vicious little animals who were impossible to tame. Hearing this perked my interest, and I wanted to see if I could tame the vicious "untameable" mink. I already had lots of experience taming and training various animals like wild horses and birds of prey for falconry, so I felt that if anyone could do it, I could! After successfully taming several mink, I then became curious if it were possible to hunt and fish with a trained mink. Now 15 years later, what started out as a simple curiosity, has grown into a passion that has engulfed my life. I get mink from fur farms and give them a new life. In this new life my mink can hunt and fish just like a wild mink would.
