A new age is dawning on the Loreley: In August 2015, the legendary venue will host the first installment of RockFels festival. For 40 years now, the Loreley has been serving as a concert venue for music’s most famous. Ranging from exclusive moments in outstanding tours to extravagant festivals, it has been known to please even the pickiest of acoustics connoisseurs. It comes as no surprise that the Loreley ranks high among Europe’s best sounding stages. Lovers of metal are no strangers to this rock either – the Loreley stage has been the setting of legendary shows such as the WDR Rockpalast concerts, Golden Summernight festivals and even the Metal Hammer festival 1985. With RockFels festival 2015, the Loreley will again be attracting fans of traditional hard rock and heavy metal. Amongst the unique surroundings of the UNESCO world heritage site, visitors can enjoy two full days of a premium-quality festival with a holiday tinge. The following acts have already been confirmed: Helloween, Gotthard, Axxis, Pretty Maids, Pink Cream 69, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Mantar. More bands to be announced soon! The location’s experienced and seasoned team will ensure smooth sailing around the Loreley. Ulrich Lautenschläger, director of operations, on the idea behind RockFels: “Metal and hard rock have been an integral part of the Loreley since 2010. Starting 2015, we’ll be making this an fixture, turning the Loreley into RockFels on the second weekend of August every year. With the help of fans and bands alike, we’ll be sure to make this event into the highlight of rock and metal in the German festivalscape”.
