| Video Discription | Long long ago in the kingdom of Mathura ruled a wicked king called Kansa. So terrible were his atrocities that all the people of Mathura was scared of him. The people of Mathura payed for King Kansa’s rule to end and one day Lord Vishnu appeared and told them that to end Kansa’s rule he will descend on earth. A few days later, Kansa’s good hearted sister got married to Vasudev. On the night of the wedding, suddenly there was a voice from the sky. The voice spoke, ‘Oh Kansa your terror will soon end, for Devaki’s eighth child will cause your end.’ On hearing the prophecy, Kansa caught hold of Devaki and took out his sword. He decided to kill her for if she would die she wouldn’t give birth to any children and that way Kansa would remain invincible. However Vasudev begged him to spare Devaki’s life and told him that they will handover all their children to Kansa and he may do anything he wished to with them. Kansa agreed but locked up Devaki and Vasudev in a deep dark cell. Devaki gave birth to seven children and one by one Kansa killed all of them. It was a time of terror and hell. Then the night arrived when Krishna was to be born. It was a strange and magical night. As soon as the clock struck midnight the baby was born, all guards in the cell fell asleep. The winds howled loudly and the clouds rumbled in the sky and the rain came lashing down as if announcing an end to the troubles of the people of Mathura. Once again a voice spoke from the sky, ‘Vasudev take this child to Gokul to your friend Nand’s house. Leave him there and return here with Nand’s baby.’ Vasudev put the little baby in a basket and magically his chains came undone and the doors of the cell flung open. Vasudev walked out into the stormy night. To reach Gokul, he had to cross River Yamuna. He looked at the river and wondered how he would manage, but just then something magical happened - the Yamuna parted forming a path on which he could walk. Then a beautiful snake Sheshnag emerged from the river and covered both father and son like an umbrella. Vasudev reached Gokul and quietly went to Nand’s house. There he found Yashodha, Nand’s wife, fast asleep with a baby girl beside her. Vasudev kept his son there and picked up Nand’s daughter and carried her back to Mathura. When they reached back the cries of the baby girl woke up all the guards and they informed Kansa about the birth of the eighth child. Kansa rushed to the cell and picked up the baby in his hands. He was about to hurl it against the wall when the baby slipped out of his grip and transformed into the beautiful goddess Yogamaya. The goddess spoke, ‘Kansa the baby who will bring your end is alive and well. You will soon be dead.’ Saying this Goddess Yogamaya vanished. Kansa sent his guards all over Mathura to look for his nemesis but he was unable to find him. Meanwhile in Gokul, Yashodha thought that the baby boy was her child and seeing his strange blue skin she decided to call him Krishna - which means blue like the clouds attracting everyone. The people of Gokul rejoiced for a baby boy was born to Nand and Yashodha and everyone waited for him to grow up and kill Kansa.
