So in this video we are going to go over its rich history, its characteristics and 3 ways you can style them, lets jump in. History A lot of menswear comes from the military and this one isn't the exception, back in the second Boar War, the British army that was stationed in south Africa and they had these as standard issue. It was very functional and formal at the same time. it came standard in cotton and in a khaki color. Characteristics Going into the characteristics of the safari jacket, this jacket has 4 pockets, originally they were buttoned flaps but there are a variety out there now. It also has a shirt collar which makes it all the much better. The safari jacket is a button closure in the middle and also the sleeves are button closure. But you also have the option to belt the jacket instead of buttoning and I find that that's the coolest way to close this jacket and what makes it more unique. How To Style Ok as far as looks go, there is alot of ways to do this, but here are 3 ways I would rock the safari jacket. Skip the suit jacket I really like this jacket with a nice button down and a tie, I find that this is a great way to change things up from your suit jacket, you can take the trousers from your suit and switch it up with this jacket. On my feet I decided to throw on a pair of captoe brogues from dsw Remove the tie This look is really simple you can just not use the tie, throw on a button down cotton shirt and pair this look with a pair of cotton chinos for a great casual cool look. I also threw on a pair of loafers these are from jay butler. Chill This is perhaps my favorite just a clean white tee shirt with a pair of denim. The tee is from uniqlo and denim from peter manning nyc.. I added some white sneakers as well and these are from Beckett Simonon.
