| Video Discription | Hi there... Maguga dam construction started in 1998. The dam was built on the Komati river in Ekhwakheni Piggs peak in Eswatini. The people of this remote quiet community report strange iccurances during the construction. These occurrences caused the construction to take longer than expected. Several people in different instances report to have spotted a beautiful lady sitting on a rock in the middle of the river, she would dissapear as soon as people call out to her, or get to close to her. The community believes that there is a seven headed snake living in the Komati river. The snake presents itself as a beautiful lady when it is out of the water. The company responsible for the construction would wake up to find the work they had already done totally destroyed and washed away. The company was advised by the community members to appease the seven headed snake that lives in the Komati river. The company was reluctant. However they soon changed their minds as the strange happenings continued. They finally sacrificed thousands of Emalangeni in coins by throwing them in the river where the lady was often seen. The seven headed snake is a well known secret in Eswatini. They say that it causes massive storms and devastation when it angry. Some people believe that the snake is uses huge storms to concrsm itself when it has to travel in the clouds. A local resident tells s story about the day he met the seven headed snake. He woke very early in the morning hunt. He was stalking in a wild buck when he saw a massive snake making it's way down the river. He says the silhouette of the snake had seven heads. Other community members have had similar sightings of the snake. The construction was finally completed in 2002. The dam is beautiful and functioning. It is surrounded by lodges and restaurant. They even offer a dam around the dam. Although Maguga dam has become the pride of Piggs peak and Eswatini at large. The story of its strange, mysterious construction remains puzzling and has earned it's way into the unofficial history of Ekwakheni.
