| Video Discription | Within China, Shanghai is famous for its nightlife. Compared to other Chinese cities, the nightlife scene in Shanghai should be unparalleled. Or is it? As Shanghai City is still recovering from various lockdowns, the Shanghai of summer 2022 can feel like it’s being rebuild from the ground up. And still, the boys and girls of *China’s largest city* know where to find their drinks and fun on a weekend night out. First we walk our way through Maoming North Road, a bar street just off Nanjing West Road, where the constant noise of construction work at night doesn’t seem to bother the locals. This bar street leads to Wujiang Road, a night market where those who prefer shopping over drinking go for their nighttime fun. We finish our Shanghai night walk on a stretch of Nanjing West Road with luxury brand shops on both sides for a more relaxed evening stroll. Walk east all the way from here and you’ll end up on the Bund (see our previous Shanghai video for that!) This China walk was filmed on Friday 9 September 2022, on a late summer night Shanghai.
