| Video Discription | Let’s talk personal security – in particular, counter-surveillance techniques and situational awareness. Military elements are usually pretty well trained when it comes to overall force protection and situational awareness (SA). Remaining vigilant and aware of your surroundings so we know what it looks like when something is “out of place”. It is in this manner that a majority of attacks can be rapidly addressed or totally prevented. Everyday citizens can utilize these situational awareness techniques in their everyday lives and over time, vigilance and combat mindset become just part of our routine. In this video, I am attempting to cover a few very basic techniques to keep folks situationally aware of their surroundings and remain mentally ready. The idea being that in order to remain vigilant, citizens must be aware as well as not burn themselves out in a short time from hypervigilance. Trust me, staying in the “red” for a long period of time is truly mentally exhausting. Although I am reluctant to get in to the weeds regarding advanced surveillance and counter-surveillance techniques on a public forum, I hope these few tips will give you all a start point in training your family and loved ones the importance of SA.
