In fact, we'd estimate that of the case we've covered or reviewed, about 75% are well above the $40,000 price point. So when we were given a chance to visit Los Angles and experience the Sono Sion first hand - a car that is not only marketed to be one of the most affordable cars coming to market but also one that will charge itself using its solar-panel infused body -- we couldn't say no. Sadly, because of regulatory restrictions, we weren't able to drive the Sono Sion ourselves, or indeed ride in it on the public road.
