| Video Discription | Dr. Singh shares a 4-step process that will pretty much guarantee as academics, you stay up-to-date on the latest research literature in your field. Learn the 4 key steps that I personally used to keep up with literature, including how to use databases such as Google Scholar, how to get an overview of hundreds of articles per month, how to keep track of research papers, and the importance of using up to date research. There are so many online services that make it possible for academics to receive a seemingly endless stream of information about newly published research. Journals publish monthly, quarterly, annually and even weekly. It might seem an impossible to task to keep up with all that new research. I'm going to show you a 4-step process that I used that made me one of the most up-to-date people in my field. Using this process I was able to review about 150 research papers a month by spending 2 to 3 hours a month. Specifically You Will Learn: Step 1: How to conduct a mini systematic review of journals that are in your niche using databases such as Google Scholar, academia.edu, and ResearchGate. Also how to use these databases to find journal articles. Step 2: How to use Google Chrome to track research by using multiple tabs/pages to organize the different journals Step 3: How to bookmark each journal so that the whole session will all be bookmarked simultaneously. In the future, you simply open the session and it's going to take you to the current issue page of those journals. Step 4: How to set a monthly schedule and stick to it. I will share with you how I looked at 150 journals every month in about two to three hours max. Doing this once a month in exchange for staying up-to-date on all of the new research literature is well worth it. Journals publish at different times (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) so it's important to not miss anything new coming out. It is critical to stay fresh and jack up your knowledge base on a particular topic. Even in a tiny niche there may be over a hundred articles published every year specifically focused on that niche topic.
