Making a terrarium is definitely not a rocket science but keeping some basic concepts in mind will ensure a long term success of your green projects. These are all based on my experience with building terrariums in a tropical region. Your experience could actually vary based on where you live. Also many ecosystem enthusiasts believe that a terrarium/ecosystem should not be opened at all and that is perfectly ok from their point of view. I prefer to maintain the aesthetics of my terrariums and also want them to do well in the long term which will not possible without conducting periodic maintenance.
