Grup ini sekarang beranggotakan Tresno (Vokal), Micky (Bass), Yoss (Gitar), Billy (Gitar), Arie (Drum) dan Anto (Trombone). Semula mereka memainkan lagu-lagu grup luar seperti Voodoo Glow Skull, Operation Ivy & mighty-mighty bosstones, namun akhirnya mereka mengganti dengan membawakan lagu-lagu ciptaan mereka sendiri. Festival-festival musik hingga panggung-panggung underground di Jakarta & sekitarnya mereka jajal, Mereka juga pernah menjadi salah satu juara favorit Festival Musik Alternatif di Menteng awal tahun 1995. Mereka akhirnya membuat beberapa demo lagu, lalu tipe-X berinisiatif mengirimkan demo lagu Frustasi ke acara Ekspresi Indosiar dan ditayangkan. Setelah itu tawaran manggung pun semakin banyak. Ketika lagu - lagu ciptaan mereka sudah terekam sekitar 10 lagu, tipe-X pun mulai mencoba memasukkan demo lagu ke label rekaman. Mereka ingin menawarkan konsep SKA versi tipe-X dan rencananya jika tidak diterima, mereka akan menempuh jalan Indie Label. Mereka tidak menyangka musik tipe-X akhirnya tembus juga ke industri rekaman pada akhir dekade 90an. Debut album tipe-X berjudul "SKA Phobia" akhirnya Rilis pada bulan Juni 1999 dan beredar dipasaran lewat label rekaman Pops Musik di bawah Aquarius Musikindo selaku distributor.
