CableMod's new vertical GPU adapter isn't out yet, but we have a couple of the final samples for the kit. The mounting kit aims to adapt nearly any case to support vertical GPUs, and will also seat the cards considerably farther back from the glass than stock case vertical GPU mounts. This should theoretically reduce thermal load on the GPU, as distance from the glass is typically what kills performance with vertical GPU mounts. As more vendors, including Cooler Master (with the SL600M) and Thermaltake (with Level 20), move toward rotational PCIe brackets, this testing will grow increasingly relevant. The same concepts apply to these not-yet-out cases as to today's testing.
