| Video Discription | This is a sneak preview of my homemade DIY dual snorkel project for twin turbo V10 TDI Touareg. As you can see, the factory sensors have been retained while removing the entire airbox (to make room for 2260 turbos.....some day). The air suspension compressor feed will have to be routed to the filtered air supply, as well as the gearbox ventilation breather tubes extended, and the top tubes (will likely be aluminum) for the snorkel routed through fender, to be truly capable of fording rooftop depths. Also, likely, some electronics will need to be sealed or relocated. These enclosed air filters can be purchased from eBay for the same price as oem filters. Gasket maker will be used to ensure enclosures are entirely watertight. This is only testing fitment, as the filters might not allow enough air to flow, I will be logging air flow with VCDS using these filters and compared to brand new oem filters to verify I have enough air flow. The engine does not struggle to reach redline and sounds much louder than before, but this is without any load, and my old air filters were dirty with mud. More detailed videos soon. SDqGkK_OUGE |
