Built in the Shikhara style, these shrines are famous for its finely executed classical forms. Akhand Chandi Palace Once the residence of the Chamba ruling family, Akhand Chandi Palace is known for its unique style of architecture. Built by Umed Singh around 1747-1765 AD and renovated by the Sham Singh, the building has now been converted into a college. Bhuri Singh Museum Named after the famous ruler Raja Bhuri, the museum is a repository of many masterpieces of the Chamba, Kangra and Basholi schools of painting. The museum remain closed on Mondays and public holidays. Chaugan A large grassy meadow in the centre of the Chamba town, it is the hub of all activities. Hari Rai Temple Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Hari Rai Temple was built in11th century. Constructed in Shikhara style the temple stands on a stone platform. Rang Mahal It was built by Raja Umed Singh in the mid 18th century, with additions made in the later years by his successors. The paintings on the walls of this palace are splendid, based on religious themes with Krishna stories being particularly popular.
