Personal information
This section has your basic information. Check to see that this information is accurate and up-to-date. If you find information you don’t recognize, initiate an identity check with Transunion.
Public Records
This section contains bankruptcy records. Check the type of bankruptcy indicated since this determines how long it stays on your record; Chapter 7 bankruptcy lasts 10 years, while Chapter 13 lasts 7 years.
Account information
This section contains your credit issuers, balances, payments, dates, ratings, and comments. Ensure the information here is accurate and reflects your most recent activity.
Adverse Accounts
This section has your late payments that were forwarded to collections. Check the names of the listed accounts and initiate a dispute process if you find a mismatch.
Satisfactory accounts
This section contains current and closed accounts with a good payment history. Closed accounts remain on your report for 10 years. Check the accounts listed to ensure your most recent repayment is included.
Collections
This section contains your overdue debts that were forwarded to collectors. Check if the details are accurate and initiate a dispute process if you notice any discrepancies.
Inquiries
These include hard and soft inquiries by lenders, insurers, and authorized companies. Review their information and call any company you don't recognize, especially under regular inquiries, which negatively impact your credit score.
