Following the meeting, CM Thackeray held a press conference where he stated that he discussed matters such as the Maratha reservation, the Metro car shed, and GST compensation with Prime Minister Modi. Mr Thackeray wrote to the Prime Minister last month, requesting that he take steps to classify the Maratha group in the state as a Socially and Educationally Backward Caste, allowing them to seek education (12%) and job reservation (13 per cent).
